Location of the surf hotel in Padang
The surf camp in Padang on Bukit, the southern peninsula of Bali, is located a one-hour drive from the hectic shopping and party paradise Kuta.
Small shops, cafés and the home break Padang beach are a 10- to 15-minute walk away. You can reach the awesome surf spots such as Uluwatu, Bingin and Impossibles within a five- to ten-minute drive tops.
Get to surf the home breaks Padang Padang and Bingin near the camp or drive to numerous world-famous spots of Bali’s southern peninsula, only a brief drive from the camp, with experienced surf guides at Padang surf camp Bali.
Guided surf tours take place from Tuesday to Sunday. We mainly go to spots not far from the camp, but also embark on a longer drive if swell and wind conditions make it necessary. You can take advantage of the surf guides’ years of experience – they know exactly what to look out for.
Session preparations already start at dinner, where we talk about the plan for the next day and brief you extensively on the upcoming session. The surroundings mostly feature interesting options for intermediate and advanced surfers, but more skilled beginners should also know their way around high tide and low swell.
For beginners the many semi-beach breaks on our doorstep are ideal for riding your first green wave and improving your take-off.
Total beginners we recommend booking our 3-day learn-to-surf package.
For intermediate surfers Bali has a whole series of soft reef breaks and semi-beach breaks in store.
Many perfect waves nearby or famous spots a bit further away will push your skills and maybe even make you an advanced surfer by the end of your stay.
Of course it is also the advanced surfers that really get their money’s worth on Bali.
The best waves all around Bali are on our schedule: the legendary Airport breaks, the classic Bali waves such as Dreamland and Balangan or the world famous spots like Padang-Padang, Keramas or Uluwatu.
Starting your day well rested, our camp cook Sunny is already waiting for you with a rich breakfast. Our dinner menu features Indonesian and western dishes.
Breakfast can be ordered individually – it’s already included in the price. We usually dine all together in the evening.
Varied menus with western and Indonesian highlights plus a vegetarian alternative from Monday to Friday are also included. You can also buy affordable snacks and drinks at the little camp supermarket.
Find a delicious Mexican, further cafés/restaurants and smaller food stands directly on the main road only a brief walk from the surf camp in Padang.
Kuta is a one-hour drive from Padang surf camp. Rumour has it that you can find the highest density of surf shops here. There are also countless clubs, restaurants with western and Indonesian cuisine, cinemas and shopping malls.
Looking for cultural and/or active alternatives? Book trips to Bali’s scenic highlights directly on site. Volcanos, waterfalls, lakes, temples and rice terraces are part of the itinerary – and much more! The sports programme is quite impressive too. You can book half-day tours for diving, climbing, kitesurfing or volcano trips for a small fee.
We will be happy to get you a scooter on site so you can explore the island on your own.
