Never too early to learn surfing – grommet at Balangan Beach
Hi guys,
our regularly guide outing last week end took place at Lazy Lembongan, the small Island in the south east of Bali. Please have a look at the pictures we made.
We booked 2 speed boats (because we were a total of 20 people) which needed around 30 minutes from Bali to Lembongan. Everything was prepared, Nasi Bungus (take-away-rice meals) and enough Bintang (famous local beer).
Guide Nuno as “captain Ahab from Portugal”" has everything under control
After the Nasi Bungus packs are equally distributed and the last surfboard and guide was stored, we finally could hit the gas .
As we arrived, first thing we saw were the hairy legs of a KIMA mermaid (this one without the usual single fin) and….if you check the background: 2 dolphins fooling around (this is not a joke)…unfortunately they came not closer for a better picture.

First stop were at Ceningan, here you can see guide Conny rippin…

Our next stop was Shipwrecks, I don´t know why, but it suddenly got crowded somehow

“Captain Ahab” is ready for the “Green Room”
Somebody please tell guide Gede that you suppose to lay belly-down on your surfboard
Guide Leo needed some shadow
Guide Fred is rockin’…

Guide Andre on speed…

Nice ride Mr. Joko…our chief guide sends everybody out of his wave just with his crazy grimaces
Everybody was looking forward to the cold beer at the end of the day….please understand that we cannot post more pictures after that
Hey guys,
today we got 2 pics for you because we couldn’t decide which one is the best. Please help us with this difficult decision and vote for one of it by posting a comment…
Epic glassy wave and smooth local bottom turn at Ulu’s??
or
Style lady Mia on a very sunny day at a Canggu semi-beach break??
Thanks for your vote comments!
One of our guest got a free facial of a nice dropping lip at Berawa beach…including sea salt peeling
Guide Conny is flying high at Canggu beach area…no worries the landing was smooth
The Balinese new year called NYEPI is a special day for every one, because nobody is allowed to go out, making some noise or lights after sunset. No shop is open, no planes are landing, Bali seems to be empty!
The beginning of the new year of the Balinese calender starts with “fooling” the bad deamons. It works like this: in the evening before NYEPI there is a big and loud parade where big monsters called Ogoh-Ogohs are carried through the streets to threaten the bad deamons so they will leave the island. When they come back on the next day they will find Bali abandoned… they will not even find one single soul to steal… no human to drag to the dark side… (remember that no one is allowed to go out, or make light). So the deamons will leave Bali for a long time and all people can start the new year in peace!
Usually there are a lot of ceremonies and praying befor Nyepi day, like here at Batu Bolong, Canggu area.
Here you see to Ogoh-Ogoh Monsters fighting againstg each other, good against evil. Usually these monsters are built by – or at least with a lot of help of children. They always looking forward to this special event.

The Montsers are carried throught the streets and wiggled areound on their bamboo- frames so the actiually look quite real….thats why the picture quality isn´t that good, sorry.

Due to the moving, this dude looks really spooky, doesn´t it?
Here another friendly deamon fighting a dragon.

When the parade is over the Ogoh-Ogoh Monsters will be burned. Especially this is fun for the kids.

Burn, Ogoh- Ogoh…burn. Visit our surf camps in Bali to see that spectacular parade and enjoy one day of totally silence besides of hammering waves
