Today our advanced surfers stood up early once again and surfed some perfect waves somewhere at the peninsula in the south of Bali, called Bukit.
Again our “in-water photographer-guide” Sylvie brought her camera.

Nice glassy righthander…it was worth to stand up early!

Ready for a small breakfast-barrel?

On the way back to the beach…better to wear booties.

Many thanks to Sylvie for providing such nice pictures.

Our surf guide Sylvie is on the best way to become a great inwater photographer. See some pics from here swimming between crazy surfing KIMA guests…
Take offs at Kuta Beach…

After the big swell at the week end the waves are suitable now for all levels again. Some fun waves waiting to get surfed at the beach.

Hey big wave rider!
here some pictures of the biggest swell (since now) in 2007. The last week was perfect to test out your new gun…or just sit in a warung with a cup of coffe and do wave watching from a save distance
With a 8 – 10 foot swell even Padang Padang, the “pipeline” of Bali was working. Check this perfect lefthand barrel:

Better jump than dive…it is really shallow!

Uluwatu in its perfection! At least double overhead (at least) and still holding the swell with clean lines. Do you see the surfer?

Here a gun is absolutely necessary:

This won´t be the last big swell coming to Bali…so take your gun (or coffe) and join KIMA

Sometimes it is really necessary to do some take-off training with our beginners. To train it in advance on the grass will be very helpfull in the water so you don´t have to think – just act! See here some pictures of our last session…
Paddling, paddling, make a hollow back… one more paddel stroke, head down..and juuuuump!

Is this the perfect stance?

Hmmmmh…look at that…and make sure that the hands (and bottom) are correctly in a “surfing-USA”-position!

To improve the timing of the take off (one of the most important things) the wave was simulated by a towel… the one who is too slow get towelled really hard

Sometimes on Bali the sun is already burning hot at 8 o´clock in the morning. Not today…it had rained before and the dust hung still over the ocean. Bali has many faces! A refreshing offshore breeze and surfing under a rainbow delighted the whole group.
Arrival at the parking place somewhere in Canggu area.

On the way to some empty waves

Somewheeeere…under the rainbow….

…Kima surfs !

And the obligatory banana pancake after surf!…Is it a lamp or is ist a hat???…who knows!

After request ouf our guest we organized once more a trip to Medewi, the small remote village on the west coast of Bali. Famous among surfers because it is supposed to be Balis longest lefthander, breaking over rocky reef. The family of Agus (our chief guide) always provides for the KIMA guest accomodation and great home made food by Ibu (mother). Here some pictures of our last trip:
The 2,5 hrs drive to Medewi contains some nice views over rice fields.

The bay of Medewi with its rocks and fishing boats.

The KIMA Medewi crew on the way to their first surf session.

And here it is: Balis longest left….it was small but very fun though… By the way Medewi is also one of the spots of the Indonesian Grom Search Competition. I think we can show you some pictures of that in the next coming days. Here you can see one of the rippin Medewi locals in action:

And our guests as well:

Some snack in between “a la Medewi”…fresh and hot, served on banana leafs and a KIMA board!

Bintang time at Agus house

Medewi is always fun and the people like it. Feel a totally different Bali outside of Kuta and surf some really awesome waves…See you next time at Balis longest left.

Two days ago some of our guests take the chance to regenerate from surfing through exploring the island of Gods and Deamons with bicycles.

Downhill through rice terraces…

…and small villages.

Organized by our always smiling guides Joko (orange shirt) and Sylvie (red helmet).
